God of everything, thank you. Thank you for being with me through all of this, and even today. After the rush and bluster of the season, remind me right here, right now, that it is Christmas. And that your promise of being in my life, showing up for me in timely and impossible ways, has never been more true. It just always is and I can count on it. Thank you for loving me and the world so much, you had to show us how love looks with skin on. Show me the way today, especially in these days that scream “Christmas is over.” Oh, it’s just beginning – it’s always just beginning with you. Your schedule and rhythms of faithfulness never fully align with the worlds or even the church. Keep me off that path of rush and hurry and lead me into deeper love with you. Everything is so weird in December, so lead me into the new year not with the promise of a New Me, but with your faithfulness to continue loving me and making me new in your ways.

Fill those I love most and best with your love today. And surround my good colleagues with your hope and spark their joy, even a little. Fill me with your Holy Spirit so I don’t have to depend on my own energy or will. It’s you. It’s always about you. Thank you. I love you. Amen.

May a chorus of angels show up for you today, dear Deacon, Dear Chaplain, Dear Pastor. Singing the praises of this faithful God.  Don’t be afraid, God is with you.
