LENT [Ash Wednesday] 2025 CGP HIGH5!

I’m not much for pompoms or cheerleading in the formal sense. But the metaphor is strong for me – I am cheering for you Pastors! Deacons! Chaplains! Ra-Ra-Siss-Boom-Bah! I think your faithful work is critical. It’s important. And. AND! You, my dear Child of God. You are critical. You are important. I pray for you regularly. I check in with you. I like your social media posts. I tell your congregations when I visit how lucky they are to have you. Sometimes when I write to you or plan programs for you, I use too! many! exclamation! points!

So, I bring you the Lenten 2025 HIGH5! A daily reminder that you, in fact, can do it. Are doing it! Have done it! Yippee! Bask in that satisfying slap of 2 hands meeting in the perfect high 5!

At your very core, you are a Child of God. And God created you human. On purpose! So tend to yourself before you head out the door or head in to lead worship. Or maybe you’re reading this after it’s all over. Or maybe it didn’t happen because there’s a blizzard? Ah well. That’s disappointing. But it’s never too late to remember your belovedness. Remember it now, beloved Child of God.
