Send your Holy Spirit to free me up today, gracious God. Free me up from the things that I wouldn’t do under normal circumstances. Like, love all your people. And point to good news when it is so easy to think that perhaps I am not qualified to do that. That I don’t know enough or believe enough. Or that I don’t have it right. Gross. Free me from thinking or believing any of that. It’s so easy to get caught up in the din of the world that is so often about winning and losing. So help me be your Biggest Loser today. Help me to want to do this work. Whatever it might look like today. Preaching or singing or teaching or praying or handing out your grace to be feasted upon. Help me be a messenger that’s freed up of my own garbage and my imposter syndrome. Send your Holy Spirit to free me up from me. From myself. 

And instead, transform me into a person who loves. And receives love and gives love. Especially to those who love me best and most. Those who are nearest and dearest to me. Because those are the people who see me at my worst because sometimes the pressures of ministries come out sidewise onto them. God, forgive me. Help me to love. Because it’s all about you and it’s not about me. Oh my gosh, what a gift that is. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Amen.

Deep breaths dear pastor, dear deacon, dear chaplain. Your labor in the Lord is not in vain. Don’t be afraid. God is with you.
