16 March 2025 Prayer for the Deacon, Chaplain, Pastor
You can pray with Pr. Laura right here
Dear God, it is another Sunday in Lent. And I always need the inspiration of your Holy Spirit to stir up your good news within me. Especially when I am more than willing to look in the mirror and say “BOO!” to the whole thing. Thumbs down. Yet you always change my perspective. You create new possibilities within even me to be loved by you. You look right at me, little old me, and say, “You. I love you. And maybe I will just suffer and die to show you how much you mean to me. So that will you know the companionship and the love of me – a God who suffers. Who knows all your stuff. And loves you still. Completely.” It’s incredible, God, how you love me. So completely.
So show me the faithful way forward into this day, whatever it holds. So that I can, by your love and Spirit, help to gather people instead of contribute to the widening and deepening divides. You gather us together, and we are huddled under the safety of your care. We are embraced by you – oh! Help me to believe it and to live it out among those I serve, those closest to me, and to the world you so dearly love. Stir up your love in my colleagues. Stir up your love in my family. Stir up your love in my friends. Help us to love each other well by showing up for one another. By listening. By praying together. By remembering our love we share for you. It is all we have to hang onto and it is enough. Because it is you. Thank you. Amen.
Dear Chaplain, dear Deacon, Dear Pastor. Don’t be afraid, God is with you.
